Has anyone ever gotten mad at you because of something that they didn’t do? They miss a deadline and gets upset because you didn’t remind them. They’re cooking in the kitchen and get mad at you when their food overcook! They’re driving down a road and gets frustrated at you when they miss their turn. And you are left wondering how did I become the blame? How is this my fault?
I can imagine this is how God feels about us.
We lose accountability because it is easy to take the blame off yourself and put it on someone else! We blame the Lord at times we should be blaming ourselves. He envisions us doing everything he has called us to do but sometimes we just don’t do it. He has opportunities waiting for us, but we won’t initiate the first step. He gave us amazing gifts, but we won’t perfect our craft. And then when times pass us by, we have the nerve to say that the Lord didn’t want this for us. No, you didn’t want it for yourself.
James 2:26 ASV
For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.
God has plans for us to prosper. God wants us to be happy. But because we didn’t go out and work for what God has envisioned us to do we dilute the vision. No more excuses! If the Lord gave you the vision, and if you have the utmost faith in the Lord, then the only person you are waiting for is yourself. And if you miss your blessing don’t think for one second that the Lord won’t uplift someone else to do everything that he once called you to do.
If you are reading this then you still have time! The Lord has granted us another day to build, grow, and prosper in his name. Take away the procrastination and insecurities and replace them with conviction and passion.
At times we are awaiting something mystical to happen as if that is a confirmation from God. But God has already implanted everything you need inside of you. He is waiting for you! Go after everything that the Lord has for you and do it with urgency!
