Pray for the Assist,
Lord, I first come to you today and first ask for forgiveness of my sins. I want to enter your graces with a pure heart, a pure mind, and a pure conscience.
I want to thank you for who you are and who you continue to be upon my life. I want to thank you for your grace, your mercy, your wisdom, and the pure love that you have rained upon my life.
Lord, I ask that you look into my heart, look into my soul, and tackle my deepest concerns. During this play called life, I understand that there is nothing that I can do without you. I can’t score without you. I can’t win without you. But with you, I am a champion. With you I am victorious.
Lord I ask you for assistance during this time of need. Lord, I ask that as I am raising my children you are alongside court with me. I ask that in my household I can pass the burdens and concerns to you because with you I know that I can win. But without you, I don’t have a chance.
I pray that you are on my team as I enter into work, school, and the different places that my life may take me. I ask that I can pass you the concerns and the weight of life…for it is too much to carry without you Father. Lord, I am asking that you make a way out of no way. Lord grant me with your wisdom, fill me with your grace, pour into me until my cup runneth over.
Lord, I need your help and because of who you are I know that it is already done. I know that you are in the midst. I know that you are fighting my battles even when I can not see it. And for that, I thank you, Lord.
In the Lord’s name, we pray.
Today I wanted to write a nice long blog about the term assist in basketball. I wanted to relate it to our lives from the perspective of assisting other and being in the need of assistance. And as I wrote I realized that we all are in need assistance in some form or another. We need assistance from God to guide our heart, our mind, and our spirit. And sometimes we just need flat-out help!
As I pray upon life, I pray that these words are able to assist someone as it may assist me. So many times we are relying on our own strength and wisdom but its okay to say, Lord, I need you. Assist me.

This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
