A Simple Concept

This month we covered all the dynamics of basketball. We talked about initiating the play with the jump ball, not letting anyone steal your joy, going for the rebound of hardships, and being able to get the perfect assist. When all of these concepts come together then we are able to have a perfect plan and win the game that we call life.

When I think of a perfect play I think of everything going the way that I planned. I imagine my plans to succeed executed perfectly with little to no distractions, obstacles or steals! I imagine my accomplishments coinciding with the timeframe that I planned for them. However, maturity and life lessons will teach you otherwise. I have learned that if I didn’t consult with the Lord about what my plan may truly be then I have wasted some serious time. Because no matter what my plan may be for myself that doesn’t mean anything if it is not the plan that the Lord has for me. No matter how bad I may want it.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding ;

In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

God’s perfect play does not have to coexist or coincide with what we would consider our perfect play to be. We much acknowledge Him as the omnipotent, omniscience, and omnipresent Lord that He is.

We have to understand what it means when we say that the Lord is our shepherd. Many times we give ourselves a lot more accreditation then we should. It doesn’t matter what your degree is in. It doesn’t matter what your level of expertise on a topic. The Lord’s plan will always supersede, bypass, and excel your own understanding every time. It is impossible for us to have the intelligence level to predict what the Lord has for us. We must humble ourselves and understand that we cant do this without the Lord and we shouldn’t want to!

I didn’t want to write a long blog to reiterate a simple concept.

Don’t miss out on your blessings by trying to create your own. Ask and He shall give you understanding. Trust in the Lord and He will guide you.
