What do you see when you see yourself? The answers will vary depending on many factors. The most important factor being is how we perceive ourselves. It may possibly waver depending on where we are in our life at the time. The most important thing to consider is how God sees you! I have learned that I am more concerned with God being pleased with my life more than anything because that will count. Being connected to Him by living holy, having the fruits of the spirit and being a fisher of men (discipleship).
I know we are in the era where all the lines seem to be blurred, wrongdoing is highly esteemed, doing the right thing is old school, and the world as we know is going crazy! That ’s a lot to process, but I want to assure you that God forewarned us of it all. We don’t have to fear because we are in the world, but not of the world. He also wants us to live a life that bears witness to our faith in Him. One might ask, well how does our life bear witness? One way is evidenced by the fruit (behavior) you produce. Your behavior is an outward manifestation of what is being cultivated in your heart. The Bible tells us,”A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.( Matt.7:18).I understand with this scripture that everything in our life must line up with the Word of God. Being consistent in your walk no matter where you are whether it be at home, work, church or school. You may be the only example of what it means to be a Christian that the unsaved see. God knows that we aren’t perfect, but He is working things out in us. We must understand that we are Kingdom representatives and there is always someone watching and inspecting our fruit. Being a kingdom representative, we know that not only are we vessels being used by God, but we also have a responsibility to bring another person to Christ.
The Spirit of Love is Everything
In order to be effective, we must do everything with the spirit of God’s love. How we treat people and how they feel in our presence is what they will remember. The spirit of God’s love felt through you is what will draw people in. Even when people are hateful, God’s love for you will not allow you to be vengeful. The spirit of God’s love makes the difference and it should be heard and felt in everything. If we do things without the spirit of love then it is done in the flesh. Even when Jesus ministered He did it in the spirit of love. He met people where they were and when they encountered Him they never were the same. I encourage you to continue to persevere in your faith. Don’t feel compelled to conform to things that aren’t pleasing to Him. Being able to witness to someone is what we all are called to do as believers.
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will makey ou fishers of men. (Matt 4:19 KJV)
Peace Be unto you,
