Let today be Great

Good Morning and Happy Monday ❤

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 118:24

Today I don’t want it to be like any other day! I want us to stop and rejoice in the day, the ones we love, and most importantly God.

I have noticed that in this world full of hate it is very easy to focus on the negative. Sometimes we ignore the people that love us just focus on the people that dislike us. We can consume ourselves with gossip instead of education. We become unappreciative of the ones that enjoy our company and focus on the ones that abandon us.

I would like to send a prayer for your inner peace. Removing the darkness that consumes us and replaces it with light.

Dear Lord,

For anyone reading this may you reveal the good in their lives. Lord may you touch an empty place within their soul and fill it with your joy. May they receive the good instead of the bad, may they become appreciative of the love that is around them. If any love is lacking within their life Lord I ask that you would fill it fill it with yours. Fill it with the unconditional love your salvation brings. Teach them your way so that can understand the power of your name. Forgive us for our shortcoming, help us overcome our hardships but most of all let us rejoice in you our Father. May today each the souls that read this you find them where they are… look inside of them, look inside their deepest concerns and may you find a way to use your will.

In the Lord’s name, we Pray…

-Amen

The Origin of Unforgiveness

“For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”(Matt 6:14-15)

Have you ever felt stuck? It can seem very difficult to disregard your feelings when someone has offended you. Forgiveness is essential to finding freedom from the captivity of an unresolved issue. Unforgiveness festers and takes root in your heart and spirit. It is evidenced by the sprouting up of bitterness and anger. However, it doesn’t just stop there it also robs you of joy and life. You can’t be completely in the present because you haven’t dealt with the issue.

Unforgiveness opens a door of darkness for the enemy to come in. It renders your life to be void of true joy, peace, and progress. If you do a self-assessment and this is where you are then you are existing. Forgiveness is taking a step. It is a choice to acknowledge your feelings and emotions. It is also empowering because when we give it over to God it allows Him to begin working on us. It is too much to carry the weight of unforgiveness. We do it because it makes us feel in control of something, but carrying the weight over time has a physical impact on our bodies. We weren’t created to harbor it we are called to cast all of our cares unto the Lord.

Transparency is where it all begins. For example, when you have a an appointment with your Physician. His job is to review your history, perform a physical, and ask questions about how your doing. Then he may ask is there anything new you are experiencing. This is where a patient should be completely honest and not be fearful. This is a guide to individualize care for just you. Even if you decide that you won’t disclose everything there are other ways to find out how you are really doing (bloodwork, vital signs, etc). Let’s just be honest ,there are times when our behavior, thoughts and actions are not  Christlike. We must depend on the Lord to put us back in alignment with His word. Today, I encourage you to allow God to have free reign in your life. God is able to heal you and make you whole again .He will tackle the origin of your unforgiveness. Remember trying to put a band-aid on an emotional wound is only a temporary solution, but the problem is systemic. If it’s not addressed quickly and correctly it will negatively impact everything around it. Let go and let God have His way!

Be Blessed,

Runneth Over

Good Morning! Hope all is well. I have truly missed you all this past week, however, I cannot say that I haven’t enjoyed myself. I wanted to tell you all about my recent revelation from God and how it changed my outlook on life. ❤

God appeared to me a couple of years ago and told me that my cup would run over.

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.

I didn’t exactly know what that meant, until this past week. I kept thinking that I would come across a large sum of money or that I would inherit some fortune but that was not the case. Yes, many blessings have came my way but none that I thought was a direct message from the Lord. Until this past week.

This past week was my vow renewal. My husband and I have been married for a couple of years but never had a ceremony. Because we missed the interaction of our family and friends the first go around we decided to invite everyone on a cruise where they would not only see us get married but also spend quality time with us.

During this amazing vacation, God words came back to me. My cup was running over! Not with money or fortune but with love, grace, and mercy. My family and friends broke records on having the largest group in carnival history. Everyone got to witness my husband and I love for one another and we got to witness theirs. We were surrounded by the sea but flooded with love.

We always assume that our blessing will come in the form of money or fame. However, we must appreciate the love that is around us. Your blessing will come but can be unexpected. Cherish the ones that make you smile, encourage the ones that lift you up, and always praise God for each day and each person for it is a gift. The time and the love I experienced was richer than any dollar ever printed.

May God bless you in any way He seems befitting.

A FATHER’S HEART

“What does  it mean to be a great father?” Strong,  present, loyal, and dedicated are just a few attributes to describe what it means. For many children, the memories of their father are filled with being supported, feeling protected, and being esteemed as a hero. In contrast, there are others who didn’t have the support of their father, but he may have contributed financially. The presence of a father is so important and irreplaceable. It shapes our perception of how we see the world. The affirmations and blessings from a father are priceless and necessary. Fathers are an asset to the family. In our walk with the Lord, it can difficult to understand Him as a father. When the relationship with our earthly father is estranged or nonexistent that concept can seem incomprehensible. It makes it tough to give God that space in our hearts and lives.

There are many extraordinary fathers in the world who give being a parent their all. They understand the significance of what they impart to their children and others. It may be a coach, teacher, or counselor who give nuggets of wisdom that the children will embrace for a lifetime. When the father has a daughter he sets the standard for how she will relate to men in her life. If the father has a son, he displays what it is to be a leader, provider, and champion for his family and community.

Our Heavenly Father has the power and is capable of healing, restoring, and fortifying your heart in the area of heartache and disappointment. God will show up and place Godly men family or friends in your life that will assist in navigating you along the way. He will empower you so that if your father was unavailable  it doesn’t become a hindrance to your progress. However, it is a process of forgiveness and total trust in God. The Lord has a way of doing something new in our lives to change the narrative spiritually, emotionally, and for generations to come. The only thing we have to do is allow Him to work in us and believe that nothing is too hard for Him.

GREAT START TO THE DAY

Happy Monday to everyone! It is so important that we start our day talking to God and casting every single care on Him. He is well aware of what the day holds and what you will need to get through it. When we talk to Him first thing in the morning we are acknowledging Him as Lord over our life.  There is no need to worry because He is always there even when He can’t be traced. Today, be confident and know that you serve a living God that has all power in His hand.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I want to thank you all the things that you are orchestrating in my life.  I am grateful for your restoring power that moves me toward greatness daily. Lord, I thank you for heightening my awareness of your presence. I am reminded to look for a display of your love all around me because you will never leave or forsake me. I thank you for covering me and everyone connected to me under your precious blood.  Let the children of God’s discernment rightfully divide your word of truth from lies and deception sent from the enemy’s camp.  Give us a boldness to live holy according to your word. We know that we are in the world and not of the world. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Be strong and courageous.  Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.(Deuterononmy 31:6)

Be Great,

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY

The time has arrived and we are on the brink of summer! The life-changing celebrations begin graduations, baby showers, weddings and family reunions are in full swing. It feels like life slows down a bit from the everyday hustle and bustle of busyness. Summer is a marker for fun in the sun with family and friends. This month we will place an emphasis on “Focusing on the Family”. Every day we are on the go with things to do and places to go. Then there is unseen pressure to stay at abreast of the latest and greatest news, and gadgets. Now is a great time to really take the time to spend quality time doing things that you enjoy with people that you love.

Remember what life was like before social media, androids, and iPhones. It seems like a very long time ago and sometimes I long for the days. If you hadn’t talked to someone in a while you would call or visit to say,” hello” or “I love you”. It was how we stayed connected and it required more effort. Don’t get me wrong I love the convenience of texting and all the other ways to communicate, but nothing can substitute that feeling of the in-person interaction. It seems that actively listening and eye contact is a lost art form. I know that change is constant, but it is very important to hold fast to core values. Two of the most important lessons that I have learned is to value others and be present. Being present means to be totally in the moment whether it is a conversation with a co-worker, a game of basketball with my son, or a joke with my favorite aunt. I am totally in that moment with no distractions. When we devote more time to our families it strengthens the bond. Ministry begins in your home first. This is also how God longs for us to spend time with Him no distractions. Meditating on His word and being dependent on Him for everything. When we stay connected daily to Him to navigate through life everyone around us feels the outpouring of His goodness. It will require effort on our part to be faithful to His word and commands, but the reward of seeking His face in our space is incomparable!

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit: apart from me you can do nothing. ”(John15:5)

But With God

I have always loved the story of Moses because he couldn’t see himself fulfilling the purpose of God. Like many of us Moses had a past, he couldn’t speak well, and for the most part, odds were against him. Therefore Moses doubted himself, made excuses, but God still used him. Just like He can use you and all of us.

I understand that the enemy or yourself will put doubts in your head. He will remind you of everything that was done in your past, highlight all of your shortcomings and emphasize the obstacles ahead. But with God all things are possible.

I can do ALL THINGS through CHRIST who STRENGTHENS me.

~Phillipians 4:13

Our Lord is still the same Lord that Moses had. He will equip you with everything you will need to fulfill your purpose. Just as God supplied Aaron to Moses, He will supply you as well. He will teach you everything you will need to learn along the way. He will not forsake you. Remember who He is.

I don’t want to make a long post about a simple concept. When you feel like your not enough and the odds are against you. Remember the power and the strength you have with the Lord.
